I didn't want to in any way detract from Andy's event, but now that is out of the way it's my turn...  Grin

Byte Back is a gaming convention that will be taking place on the weekend of 7-8th March 2009 in Stoke-on-Trent. All profits from the event will be donated to charity.

The event aims to unite gamers of all ages in a celebration of the entire history of video games, from classic arcade machines and 8-bit home computers, to consoles from Atari, Sega and Nintendo, all the way up to the latest generation of systems such as the XBOX 360 and Wii. The event will feature numerous competitions, guest speakers from the gaming industry, showcases of homebrew games and dealers offering a range of gaming merchandise. And don't forget there's a bar too! Wink

Tickets and further information is available at http://www.byte-back.info

Anyone interested in attending the event as an exhibitor or dealer, please get in touch via the website or PM - there's no charge for being an exhibitor apart from the regular ticket price, though donations of software/hardware to be given away as competition prizes are most welcome!

I'm also looking for people to supply systems/TVs so if you're willing to bring anything, obscure or not, let me know. Also if you know any famous names from the gaming industry that might be interested in appearing as guest speakers, please point them my way...

Hope to see some of you there!

Thanks Andy!

Just a reminder that weekend tickets are £10 for adults at the moment but will go up to £12 from 1st December. Under-16s tickets are £5 and under-10s get in free...

I've sold exactly 50 tickets in total so far, which is 20% of the total available! Smiley

I'm hoping to go, but have got to juggle my money. Hope I can get a cheapo Travelodge. If i can't I'll maybe book a Premier Inn, cos Traveldoges are rank if you pay full price, but great if you get them for under £20  Cool

There's some suggested Hotels on the website (under venue info) but the closest/cheapest one has been booked up already... There are numerous Holiday Inns and Travelodges within a 5 mile radius of the venue though. I'd probably recommend the Premier Inn at Trentham Gardens if you want a half-decent location and a reasonable price for the hotel. There's a couple of hotels in nearby Stone that are OK too...
