Replay has change it's name to 'PLAY EXPO' & the venue is at 'Event City' next to the Trafford Centre in manchester on the 13-14 October this year.

The change of name may indicate a wider scope - taking in more of current gen consoles/gaming and maybe even next gen - I'm sure there will be retro there - but maybe now that just a section like it is at other large events?

Will be watching the details emerge with interest as I do prefer the atmosphere at dedicated retro events - just always seems more friendly.

Cancelled my hotel room today as it was in the centre of Manchester due to me thinking (obviously, wrongly now) that they were aiming to put the event on at one of the event places in the centre of Manchester.  Not out in the sticks, without decent rail coverage - and then inserting a whopper about it being good for rail links on that web page / press release above!  The nearest stations are Trafford Park and Urmston.  Check them out on Google and tell me which one is in a good location

I'll still go but I'll probably stay at home and get the bus/train combo into the event instead.  Cheaper than a hotel room

Someone in work has already suggested that.  I would only drive if:

a) I would feel confident with that much iron & steel under my control

b) I could afford the petrol, insurance and other outgoings

c) I could be arsed.


As a), b) and c) are completely unlikely, I'm more than happy to use the public transport paid for by you car drivers

Its actually pretty easy to get to from Central Manchester even though its one change. You get the TRAM to Stretford, from where there is a shuttle bus to the Trafford Centre. Alternativley there are direct buses.

Not worth the hassle for someone, like myself, who's coming from the Warrington end.  I go to Bowlers (in Trafford Park) on a semi-regular basis so I know how to get to the Trafford Centre - but only after I've had a lobotomy ... or was forced at gun point ;-)
