Oric floppy disk controller
(1/1)
Panther:
Not sure if this is the same type as what Phu was trying to get running, would still love one for the oric !
Jasmin controller
Phu:
This is a different implementation, but basically does the same thing. It might be worth investigating at some point, if I can't determine why the damn Microdisc board won't work.
The Jasmin uses it's own power supply (rather than daisy-chaining the Oric's) and uses a positive regulator (or two) (rather than a negative regulator and a common positive rail).
It also prefers the 1770 disc controller, which is somewhat easier to get hold of that the MB8877A.

Though 1770s are getting scarcer now :(
Isn't the MB8877A one of the WD279x clones ? No looks like they are WD179x, you may be able to adapt it to work with a WD279x tho, which has the advantage of an internal data seperator, and only needs a +5V supply.
Do you have a link to the schematic of the Microdisc ?
Cheers.
Phill.
