Being a novice, the enthusiastic chaps that volunteer there (and younger 'experts') were on hand to encourage and explain and nothing was too much trouble to help with our enjoyment. We all had a fabulous time.
The variety and collection of games to play, as well as the collection in their library and publications, is a credit to them.
They definitely deserve some support with funding as looking at the variety of ages there (and it was pretty busy) and how much everyone was enjoying themselves, they rely on the funds raised from entrance fees, so would be a shame if they ever had to loose what they provide historically (with the earlier computer equipment and games) as well as great entertainment.

The building is a very unassuming... read more place in the middle of an industrial estate, but then what does that matter as it is the content that appeals. Your entry price gets you unlimited play on any machine of your dreams. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Quick to help you out or even help you find your favourite blast from the past. They have consoles dating back to the invention of consoles, as well as several arcade rigs set up with literally thousands of titles for you to play. They also have all the home (and school!) computer systems that you might remember from growing up. I asked to play 'Grannies Garden' as I remembered it from school, and they found it and booted it up for me. Even when there was a problem in the game, one of the staff members was able to edit the code and fix it for me there and then, which was fantastic. There were loads of different offerings and a regular flux of people though most, like myself, had clearly decided to install themselves in the place for the day. It was definitely worth a trip, and I will be going back. The visitors were a mix of adults like myself and children who were enjoying the gaming of the past for the first time.

There are tons of systems with countless classic games ready to play, and the game library has to be seen to be believed (although saying that, I saw it and I still don’t believe it). The staff are incredibly friendly and there’s a great little retro shop too. It’s an absolute gem of a place.
